money saved for one year, Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III vs. Nikon D3X, which one should I make my first SLR?
Good morning. I am a student, I was saving money for a car because I was counting on commuting to school, but because of changes, I'll be living on campus and will not need a car. I saved up 9500 for a car, but now, since I do not need a car, I decided to put everything on something random. I want to get the best camera there is out there. My current camera is a Canon SD 750 Digital ELPH. I think to get either the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III or Nikon D3X, I can find that in 2500 still left over if I get the gun or 1500 if I get the Nikon. Leftovers money is for the lenses, flash, etc. The Nikon fps and are more megapixels, but it is more than 1000. I do not know basics of photography because I took a class and I recently started reading about the opening, shutter speed, the World Bank, ISO, exposure online, etc.. So what do you recommend?
Like some others have said. Opt for glass. At the moment I have with my Canon 1DMII: 17-35mm f/2.8L – - – - – - – - $ 1.450 24-70mm f/2.8L – - – - – - – - $ 1.190 70-200mm f/2.8L IS – - – - – $ 1,700 500mm f/4.0 L IS – - – - – - – $ 5.800 I sold my 85mm f/1.2 L (1870 – $ 1200), my 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 L ($ 1,460 – $ 1,000), a former 28-70L, a 24-105, a 50mm, 28mm, etc., as I built the current series. As you can see, even at reduced prices Adorama, and not even count the difference in purchase price vs sale on those I sold, I just $ 10.140 glass. At some point I'll probably replace the old 17-35 with a 14mm f/2.8 non-zoom.
