What can I use to charge my videocam / digital camera / laptop to the Philippines?
I'm traveling next week in the Philippines and I'll bring my Handycam DCR-SR42 from Sony, Canon Powershot G6 camera and my laptop. I need to know what power adapter / charger buy. Thank you!
Check the label on your adapter. If it says 120 – 240V, then you should be good. Most wall outlets in Philippines produce 240v and will blow the fuse or the entire device if not to support this capability. If your cards do not support 240v, then you'll need a step down transformer that allows you to plug into an outlet and 240v 120v output product. If you can not find a place in your area, you find more availability in the Philippines. If you need to charge multiple devices at once, you will also need to bring or buy a power strip. Do not connect these directly into a 240V outlet unless it is rated to work for such a capability. Unlike the typical plug interface in the U.S. with 2 parallel bars, 240V outlets in the Philippines need an interface plug with 2 round holes parallel. Go to your local radio or equivalent to buy these accessories. Good luck!
